Dear
Mr. Tombari
I received my pipes a few days ago. They are stunning. Both
pipes display exceptional craftsmanship and great smoking
qualities. The greatest problem I encountered, was limiting
my choice to just two of the superb pipe designs in your
catalog.
I look forward to adding more of your fine pipes to my collection.

Hello
Maurizio,
I received the two pipes in the mail yesterday and they
are beautiful!
The fit and finish on both of these pipes are wonderful.
The hand-made shapes are
perfectly symmetrical and the finish is like glass, nary
a flaw anywhere.
The stems are also well made showing a great attention to
detail and fit just so in the mouth.
Comfortable and engineered well!
I am very, VERY impressed!
I have collected pipes for 20 years and I can honestly say
that these two pipes are as well made and engineered as
any pipes I have owned. I won't mention any names here but
your craftsmanship is far superior to many well known brands
of hand made pipes!
I look forward to taking time to break these pipes in -
and I also look forward to my next Le Nuvole pipe.
Thank you Maurizio and Stefania for your wonderful work.
Please keep my personal information on hand so that I can
order again.

Grazie
Maurizio,
in Italia.

I
received the pipe I ordered from you and have ben enjoying
it very much.
I was very impressed by the beautiful packaging, and even
more
impressed by the pleasure it gave me starting with the first
bowl. It's a beautifully-made pipe that smokes effortlessly.
Thank you very much for your service, and your craftsmanship.
I look forward to one day meeting you and picking up a few
more "Clouds" in Pesaro.
Yours,

Hello
Maurizio,
this is just a note to tell you how much I like your pipes.
I have been a pipe smoker for about 35 years and I have
learned there are two things important to a good pipe.
The first thing is the briar has to be top quality. The
pipe can be beautiful but if it does not smoke excellent
it does not have much value to me. Indeed, the pipe can
be ugly and if it smokes good it will work.
The second important thing is the design; how it is carved,
how the grain is followed and how it feels and how it looks.
Your pipes have both things! The best quality briar along
with your very tasteful and original design makes your pipes
a true work of art. Every time I pick up one of your pipes
I look forward to a very satisfying smoking session.
Thank you for making your pipes available to us. Obviously,
I look forward to getting more of your great smoking, beautifully
designed pipes in the future.

...ritirata
stile a
in condizioni "miste" - all'aperto ed in auto).
sullo stile Dunhill, è estremamente confortevole e sufficientemente morbido (soprattutto
e leggere.

sempre fresche e perfettamente asciutte.
Complimenti e tanti saluti.

Hello Maurizio,
I have now had opportunity to smoke the Zulu three times
and it is a wonderful pipe.
I have dedicated it to a particular Virginia flake that
I prefer, and it is an incredibly cool, dry and satisfying
smoker. The mouthpiece is very comfortable for me, and the
light weight and balance of the pipe make it ideal for the
way that I smoke. The drilling is perfect. I load, light,
smoke, tamp and remove dry, white ash after about an hour.
This pipe is quickly becoming one of my favourites. As I
add it to my rotation, I look forward to it's smoking characteristics
after it has had a chance to rest.
With many pipes, the break-in period is very painful and
tedious. Not so this pipe. It is already cured for smoking.
No hot spots, no noise, none of the minor irritations that
make many so-called "high-end" pipes a disappointment.
My experience with "Le Nuvole" has been grand.
When my pipe budget allows, I look forward to adding a Classic
1/8 bent "Poker" shape to my collection.
Your communication during the production of this pipe was
most helpful. I felt almost a part of it's creation.
I wish you and your wife great success and happiness.
Best regards,

Caro Maurizio,
nuvole"!!!

Stimado Maurizio:
I am so suprised and happy that I received my two beautiful
pipes today, that I can't wait until I get home to write
to you and thank you.
The pipe for my brother-in-law (#23) is fabulous, and I
am sorry I must wait almost a month to give it to him for
his birthday.
The pipe for me (#33) is Magnificent! It is so beautiful
and the grain is so straight and the color is so much like
gold that I am not sure if I can bring myself to smoke it!
You make such beautiful pipes and you sell them for such
reasonable prices, all I can say to you (nel mio povero
italiano) is:

In ogni caso focalizza
la mia attenzione.
Il colore chiaro dell'erica (credo) contribuisce all'immagine
di leggerezza
complessiva.
maneggiare. Difficile resistere alla tentazione di accenderla.
Considerato anche l'ottimo rapporto qualita'-prezzo, credo
di poter dire che si
tratta di un acquisto ottimo.
Complimenti e continui cosi'. Le soddisfazioni non potranno
che
continuare a crescere.

Hello Maurizio and Stefania.
I wanted to send you this e-mail to thank you and to express
my appreciation of your hospitality and artistry.
On Friday, May 26,2000 my wife, Karla and I visited Pesaro
with the purpose of visiting 3 pipemakers located there.
Our first stop was Le Nuvole, where we met Maurizio and
his gracious wife, Stefania. We were invited into their
home and then to his workshop, a small but very neat area
devoted to the artistry of pipemaking.
We saw everything from the raw briar to the finished pipes.
The craftsmanship was as outstanding as the pipes were beautiful.
After seeing many shapes and finishes I chose two to take
back with me to Virginia.
I found Le Nuvole on the internet but was given a strong
recommendation by Jim Kosch, the manager of my local tobacco
store.
Jim has at least a dozen of Maurizio's pipes and that is
high priase in itself.
I am breaking in my pipes with some straight Virginias and
to repeat what others have said before, they are great in
the beginning and are getting even better with each new
bowl.
Sorry about the long and rambling post.
But you and your lovely wife were the most gracious of hosts
to two unannounced travellers who knocked on your door.
Our best wishes to the both of you.

Hello Maurizio,
As you know, I recently purchased the 'le nuvole' #44. I
just wanted to say it's wonderful! I love the shape, the
pipe has very nice birds-eye around the top of the bowl
and beautiful grain to the pipe. The pictures really don't
do your pipes justice, the pipe is of excellent quality.
Beautiful!
I also need to mention the 'le nuvole' #44 smokes smooth
as silk, holds well and cleans easily, a pipe cleaner passes
nicely through to the bowl without removing the stem. I
highly recommend your pipes.
Maurizio, I stumbled on to your site by pure accident. I'm
very fortunate that I did not only did I find excellent
pipes but I have acquired a good friend I will be a collector
of your excellent work.
Thanks Maurizio.

ben equilibrata, leggera e molto armoniosa.

Dear Mr. Tombari,
making a good experience with Your "le nuvole"
Pipe 42 was my hope and I have to say, I'm fully satisfied
and will give my recommendation to my German pipe-friends.
The 42 has only one minor black spot and was formed very
smooth with a beautiful structure and color. Your package
was the optimized way to send pipes and I have never seen
a pipe packed more carefully. The time for sending shows
that Italian post will also work good and all delays must
not happen.
The service was friendly and the portion of buffing wax
will reach for all my old mouthpeaces to renew them.
Thank You again and let us stay in touch
Sincerely ,

Hello Maurizio,
How are things in Italy? Is it getting any warmer (spring)
and are you enjoyng some time with your wife?
This morning I am looking for a couple of pipes that I HOPE
that just have misplaced and not lost (not your pipes).
I was thinking about your pipes and how much I am enjoyng
smoking all but one which was the first one I bought from
you and the reason is that it is so beautiful that I enjoy
looking at it unsmoked! Crazy, huh! Your pipes are as light
as clouds, comfortable and smoke great! I wanted you to
know that! You are a great artist and craftsman.

fantastic shapes! When the pipe arrived I saw it was even
better than I had
imagined. I' m very pleased and I know now that Maurizio

A few years ago my friend and business partner Maurizio
Goldoni sent me a copy of the Italian pipe magazine Amici della pipa. It's pipe-makers section featured
Maurizio Tombari of Pesaro, Italy, who was unknown to me.
Tombari's brand, Le Nuvole Pipes, struck me immediatly with
its style and flair like no one else was offering. The magazine
however did not offer a postal address for Le Nuvole Pipes.
A short time later, I found these pipes being offered on
Clive Humm's website, and Clive gave me an e-mail address
for Maurizio whom I quickly contacted and asked about his
pipes and whether he had a Canadian or US representative.
He said that he did not but shortly he would be selling
his pipes via the Internet.
Prior to the site opening, I ordered the pipe from Maurizio
that I had seen pictured in the magazine. It arrived within
two weeks of the order. The pipe is a stunning stand-up
freehand poker with grain that I had seen only in pipes
suche as Radice Clear and Castello Collection grades. It
was a Le Nuvole 3 grade, meaning in the middle of his grading
range. The price for this hand-made pipe was a whole $125.00
US. Since the first pipe, I have added a few to my collection
and have built a nice friendship with this very friendly
service oriented pipe-maker. While developping this friendship,
I have inquired about where Maurizio learned his pipe-making
skills.
Last summer, my partner Maurizio Goldoni and his girlfriend,
Alberta, were able to visit Maurizio Tombari and his wife,
Stefania. They spent most of the day together and have also
built a fine friendship. Maurizio expressed to me just how
cordial and warm the Tombaris are. He also commented on
how immaculate the Le Nuvole workshop was. Not a tool out
of place, and no dust on the floor. He also purchased a
pipe and stated that it was a very difficoult choice, as
all the pipes they saw were meticulously finished.
I have no affiliation with Le Nuvole Pipes other than being
an extremely satisfied client and friend of the Tombari's.
I do believe that this pipe maker's art will soon be in
high demand.

The pipes arrived yesterday, safe and sound. It is difficult
to find the words to describe your pipes, they are beautiful.
I know that you describe your pipes as "like clouds,
unrepeatable and light in weight."
You need to add to your description that they are heavenly
to smoke.
I now own six of your creations, and last night for the
first time I load one of them with a bowl of some Dan Pipe
tobacco (Liberty blend, bright and sweet premium Virginia
grades). I know that pipes smoke better with age, but if
this one continues to smoke only as good as its first time
I could not ask for any more. The only problem I had was
choosing which one to smoke, they are truly works of art
and that makes it difficult to put them to use. Now knowing
how sweet they will smoke will only add to the appreciation
that I have for them and easy my mind when I choose to use
them.

Maurizio,
I was introduced to your fantastic pipes through Joshua
Rosenblatt in Los Angeles.
I am a collector, pipe maker, and above all, a pipe smoker
!! I have a nice collection of pipes in all shapes and sizes,
from just about every manufacturer in existence. May I say
that my Le Nuvole is by far the best pipe I have ever smoked
! It is what I call a "Modern Poker" and
you graded it at a "5". Not only is it a fantastic
smoking pipe, but the shape, curves, and grain are among
the best I have ever seen !!
While smoking it at a local cafe amongst friends and a great
cup of coffee, I found myself sucking air. I thought to
myself, "Well, it must be time to tamp again!"
I then looked into the bowl to tamp my tobacco, and to my
surprise, there was absolutely no tobacco left in the bowl
- not even a single flake !!
This pipe smoked down to the bottom on only my third smoke
!!
Thank you for a truely euphoric and beautiful pipe smoking
experience, and many more to come !!
Blessings,
